Meaning

Sangha robes are clothes worn by or items used by a Buddhist monk or nun. They consist of the following items under the Je Tsongkhapa tradition:

Chögu (Outer wear)
Tsen (Shawl)
Donka (Upper Garment)
Shamtab (Lower Garment)
Undershirt
Underskirt
Dingwa (Seat mat)

There are many special details on each of the robe pieces, which are very worthy of investigating and knowing their meanings of. Firstly in terms of colour, saffron yellow represents wisdom; maroon represents concentration, method and compassion; while blue represents tantra.
